I created this blog, as an interesting collection of stories about hunting, fishing, foraging or growing food. Some of the stories are relating to hunting or fishing for wild food, others are about growing, foraging or keeping livestock. These blogs bascically relate to obtaining food by other means than just buying it from supermarkets etc.

I persoanally have spent my life wandering around the countryside. I love our natural history in the Uk with a passion. I can name most british birds by sound alone. I have also spent my life fishing and shooting and I am a passionate cook. I love watching fruit and vegetables grow and then reaping the benefits of their produce. Recently I have also started to keep chickens and quail, which is a whole new adventure for me.

There are also a number of other contributers to this blog, who are equally passionate as me about harvesting wild food for the table. All of us share a deep passion for the british countryside and our wildlife.

This is why I have given the blog the name "Hunt & Gather Uk" and the domain "Wild Harvest Uk".

I hope to  continue the blog with a very varied mix of stories about hunting, fishing, foraging or growing food.
